Tues... err.. Wednesday

Haven't posted in a couple days, I really do want to do this daily!

Last couple days have been pretty uneventful unfortunately. Just work, gym and sleep.. Didn't make any fun food really either.. Ha!

Weighed in at 210 tonight at the gym though! That's 5 down from my start 3 weeks ago. I can handle it!

I did pick up Skyfall today, I was going to watch it tonight but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow. Watched Tosh.0, The Taste and finished off 21 Jumpstreet (New version).  The latter was way better than I had thought it would be, Jonah Hill is still a douche though.

I need to keep notes, I had some great posting ideas earlier today. I think the 5k I ran tonight just wore them out of me..

Until tomorrow...

Rest Day!

Ahh Sunday, my favorite and least favorite day of the week.

It's nice to have a break from the gym once a week, I relish in having Sunday. The problem is that it's also the start of my work week! Oh well, work wasn't too awful. It's going to be a decent week, boss is out of town on vacation and I get to run the show. I quite enjoy the opportunity each year to do this, it's actually fun to me.

Just watching a few shows this evening. Bar Rescue on Spike, House of Lies on Showtime.. Probably finish up with a movie or something. I would normally be watching The Walking Dead, yet I'm about an entire season behind unfortunately! Tonight was the Grammys as well, yawn.

Kept it close to the chest for food today, my first (full) day without any "treats". Did make a nice chicken dish for dinner though.

Chicken Breast simmered in Salsa, Steamed Broccoli, Brown Rice (Little low sodium soy sauce) and Avacado slices. Very nice and packed with nutrients.

Downloaded and played a few new games for iOS tonight as well. Finally bit on Borderlands: Legends as it's on sale for $.99 right now. It's not bad, the controls are ridiculously impossible though on my phone. If I only had an iPad. Also tried out the free Ghostbusters app, it's slick and quite easy to play. Free is definitely my favorite price for a game, of course it's littered with IAP, but it's not needed to play.

Hope everybody has a great week, I'm stoked to get back into the gym tomorrow Bicep/Back day!

Saturday Funday

Since most people call Sunday "Sunday Funday", I figure I'll call my Saturday that as I work Sundays! I'll think of better post names eventually I'm sure.

Got caught up on some good sleep today, then spent a good chunk of the day setting up a second computer for emulation on my TV. MAME is frustrating the crap out of me, that's for sure. I'm sure I'll get it figured out soon. It's going to be fun to have a retro machine though!

Aside from that real excitement, I experimented with some new food items today.

Chocolate Proats - Not bad! Quite a bit more chewy than I expected, but still tasty

Tilapia with cracked pepper, side of spinach greens with onion and garlic. It was my first time making fish and it came out just fantastic.

Don't have much else on this pretty uneventful Saturday.. Hope all that check in are having a great weekend!

Friday and Etceteras

So Friday has been going well so far, got up early to head to the Mall of America with a good friend of mine (Sahar). Bummed around for a bit and picked up some stuff.

I consider Friday to be my "cheat" day, now this doesn't mean that I'm ordering a Pizza and eating the entire thing. Nor am I looking to "pig out" on these days. But, I'll deviate from my usual meals to treat myself with something that I wouldn't normally eat on a daily basis. If anything, I'm much more conscious of what I'm eating during this day.

Each Friday for me though will begin with a Dark Chocolate Mocha Cooler from Caribou Coffee. It's something that I've been drinking for a long time and it's nice to have something to look forward to during the week. On top of it being awful for me (I know, oh well), it's the only caffeine that I have all week as well.

For lunch today (I normally skip lunch on Friday as I'm usually sleeping), I had to have some Chinese food. Well, we just happened upon a Thai place in the food court at the mall and they had something that I just had to have.

Curry Chicken with White Rice
They didn't have Brown and I wasn't going to have the fried crap. I only managed to snarf down 1/3 of the rice and all the chicken before I was stuffed. It's nice not eating like an animal!

Off around the Mall then to snoop some goods, found this bugger at GameStop where they're having a BOGO 50% on PS2 games. My friend picked up a game and we got this one at 1/2 price. $4.50? Seems good.

Coincidentally, right next to the GameStop was a GNC store. I wanted to pick up some more QuestBars as they're pretty fantastic, thankfully they had a Buy 3 Get 1 Free promo going on. I had to get 4, all new flavors to me!

Top to Bottom: Cinnamon Roll, Mixed Berry Bliss, Lemon Cream Pie, Peanut Butter Supreme

These might look like nothing more than candy, but they're made with NO sugar and all natural products. Gluten Free even! They're chewy, but the flavors are right on and not to mention that they have 20g of protein in each bar for under 200cal, crazy! I highly suggest them to anybody as a solid alternative to PowerBars or anything of that ilk. Check them out HERE.

Good stuff so far, let's see what the evening brings. It's still Leg Day as well!

So what am I doing exactly?

Yep, day 1 of posting again is going to have me spamming some separate posts!

So what I'm doing right now for fitness and foodage..

I'm working out 6 days a week. I'm on a 3 day lifting split -
Mon - Back/Biceps
Tues - Cardio (Did a 5k this week - 42min)
Wed - Chest/Tris/Abs/Shoulders
Thurs - Cardio (Did a 5k - 39min)
Friday - Leg Day! (Oh god no.)
Sat - Cardio (We'll see what happens!)

So that's my current workout schedule. My food goes something like this..

Breakfast/Morning Snack - Special K Strawberry Bar
Lunch - Tuna Sandwich on Wheat
Afternoon Snack - Granola Bar
Late Afternoon Snack - Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt
Early Evening Snack - Fiber One Brownie
PWO - Powerbar / Quest Bar (Used to be Powerbars, now switching to Quest)
Post Workout/Dinner - Protein Shake and either Chicken/Rice or Waffles/PB or Banana Pancakes
Before Bed - Casein Protein Shake

It looks like a lot, but it's usually in around 1400-1600 cals.. Now I want to replace the granola and other processed crap with fruit/veggies, I just need to do it.

My Banana Protein Pancakes w/Natty PB

My biggest issue right now is the fact that I'm signed up with a trainer at Anytime Fitness. Now, this wouldn't normally be an issue, but it's running me about ~$450 a month. I know I can do SO many other things with that money right now. I saw it as an investment into myself....

Now my trainer has been gone all this week and I've been doing this on my own and I feel fantastic. I really don't think I'm going to need her. Sure, she might push me harder than I'll push myself, but I'm going to push until my arms and legs give out as I always do. Thankfully, I haven't signed any paperwork committing to anything, just paid for it. She's going to be a grumpy gus, that's for sure.

I'm going to look to my friends and family for help during all of this initial crap. I know once I get into a serious groove, it's going to be all good. It's a good thing I enjoy the gym and the soreness and pain it brings.

Day 15, Perhaps some progress?

So I took my Day 15's just the other day (2/6) and I've been feeling like I haven't lost a thing! Now I know that's not entirely true, I'm just assuming that my non change in weight is partially due to muscle gain. Looking at the two pictures (Day 2/15), there is a difference.. I'm sure it'll be much more significant come Day 30!

So here's the flab. Yes, my hair is awesome in these pictures as well, had just woken up.

Weight - 215(?)

Front Shot

Side Shot -  Do I look tired? :)

Back shot- Lovehandles are noticeably getting smaller

Still dem baby muscles.

There's some progress, I'm more excited for Day 30's right now!

You can put the trash can down now, I'm done taking my shirt off for today :)

Back to Blogging? Day 2 Pics

Well. It's been a very long time since I've blogged, let alone written anything. I've been wanting to do this to track my fitness progress, but I think I might also use this as a relaxation tool as well. There's something about writing that's just relaxing and calming to me. I want to make this a daily thing, we'll just have to see if I have anything exciting to post about...

So anyways, here's the first post.

Every 15 days I'm going to be taking pictures of myself, not just so I can see progress, but so I can document my journey.

These photos are going to be jarring for some, as it's me with my clothes off (Boxers on, c'mon now). But, I'm comfortable enough blasting these out on the internet, as they'll best show progress. Seriously though, why would anybody try to document weight loss/body re-composition with their clothes on? Eh.

So these first are at Day 2 of my Diet/Gym Time, I didn't even think to take Day 1 pics, until Day 2 of course.

Starting Weight -- 215lbs
Front Shot -- I pulled my boxers up for some unknown reason.. I don't have quads.. haha

Side View-- Nice hang brah

Back View-- Dem Lovehandles

Baby muscle flex.

As my Day 2's show, I've got a long road ahead. This is still much better off than I was a couple years ago, but still a blob.

I'm going to post my Day 15's in a separate post for tagging purposes.
